Well summer has almost passed by in a blinking of an eye, what fabulous weather we have had! Lots of time for crochet outside in the sun for me including on our two week med cruise holiday, lots of inspiration too for projects from all the gorgeous places I visited with my family. A little update on my FO’s for the summer ( finished objects), we will just ignore the UFO’s ย (unfinished objects) for now ๐
A baby blanket in soft pastels from Love Crochet’s own Paintbox Yarn range, this is a really soft and snuggly baby dk yarn, beautiful subtle colour just right for a waves baby blanket.
The other project I enjoyed over the summer and finished, was the “Skimming stones” mystery crochet along ย (MCAL) from the Crochet Project, this was another gorgeous design from them of a scarf/ shawlette, representing the rippling of the water when stones hit it, the recommended yarn was from Eden Cottage Yarns, I chose some gorgeous blue faced Leicester yarn from them in a project pack of 4 skeins, 2 in black tulip (my favourite colour way) and one each in catmint and and rain. The mystery pattern released each week for 5 weeks gave us a beautifully draping piece which you should be able to wear any time after the beginning of autumn when the temperature drops, and one of those designs which you can wear in lots of different ways, it was a pattern that really kept you interested and challenged you to make sure you followed the pattern correctly as the type of design was not forgiving of any errors. There was lots of furious counting in my house every time someone interrupted my concentration!
I will show you the other ones I started when they are finished, hopefully the beginning of September, I will leave you with a few shots of our trip which will be proving me with some inspiration for projects in the year ahead ๐
