Well I couldn’t help it, I know its still October but inspiration hit me for a Santa inspired baby cocoon, I’m making a few baby cocoons at the moment by popular demand, instead of helping babies come into the world as a midwife I’m now retired and crocheting them something warm and cosy these days! I had some gorgeous merino wool skeins to use up from my stash in off white and red so this idea popped into my head and before I knew it this flew off my hook in a day. It also gave me the chance to try out my new pom pom makers which came free with my latest yarn order from Love Crochet.com in 4 different sizes, a very useful free gift in time for Christmas makes, this will definitely get some use in making some Christmas decorations 🙂
I’m going to write up a pattern for this baby cocoon, when I’ve completed it I will post the link to Ravelry and my patterns on the love crochet indie designers section in case any of you are interested in making it, I used 2 50g skeins of off/ or creamy white and 1 50g red skein, this was using a 4.5mm hook and merino super wash DK yarn but you could use any DK wool or acrylic yarn.
Right now I am also inspired to produce some more Christmassy makes- what about you ?
I’m in full on Christmas mode now, knitting jumpers for my Godsons’ stuffed toys. I love the cocoon, it’s very sweet. 😊
